About Us

The José Valdés Math Institute is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a comprehensive math education to middle and high school students, particularly  those underrepresented-in-math, to achieve academic success at the highest course level possible in high school and beyond.

Tutoring for the 2018-19 school year has begun! It will be held at Notre Dame High School in San Jose. See calendar for dates and details.

The 2018 Summer Institute completed another successful summer with 30 classes on 3 sites, serving over 600 students. Thank you to SJCC, EVC, and Stanford for hosting, and to all of Our Supporters for their contributions to our success! Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Summer Valdes Enrichment Courses (IM1, IM2, IM3, Math Analysis/Precalculus).

Thank you to Notre Dame High Schoolfor hosting our Saturday tutoring for the 2018-19 school year, as well as Mexico Bakery and Sprouts for providing pastries for our events and staff professional development!  Please visit 'Our Supporters' page for names of the other companies and individuals who have contributed to our success.
